Job Description Description: Kovitz Shifrin Nesbit is growing! A well-established and leading law firm specializing in the representation of homeowner, condominium, and community associations is seeking a Paralegal with 1-3 years of experience for our Indianapolis, IN location. As a Paralegal, you’ll be responsible for a variety of tasks, including both billable and administrative. The ideal candidate must have strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.

The starting hourly rate for this role is $29.13, contingent upon level of legal experience. The general business hours are 8:30am to 4:30pm, Monday- Friday. This is a non-exempt, in office position with no remote work available. Requirements:

Duties/Responsibilities: Assist attorneys with drafting and preparing various legal documents, including grievance letters, payment plan agreements, settlement agreements, routine motions, proposed orders, complaints, open balance notifications, and other communications as needed. Communicate with clients and property owners, providing regular updates on case progress. Monitor case status to ensure timely progress and resolution. Oversee the post-judgment hearing process to address violation corrections and collect attorney fees. Collect, prepare, and summarize relevant case materials for attorney review. Manage the transition of all covenant violation matters to HOACollect, maintaining oversight to ensure proper utilization of the system by attorneys and staff for effective case management. Perform additional duties as assigned by attorneys. Required Skills/Abilities: · 1-3 years as a Paralegal and/or 3+ years practical experience, required. · Paralegal certification, preferred. · Experience in community association law, real estate, and/or landlord-tenant law preferred, but not required. · Strong computer skills, specifically experience in all Microsoft Office Suite programs, including Word and Excel. · Familiarity with LexisNexis is a plus. · Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. · Able to work in a fast-paced environment with challenging tasks and daily deadlines.
