Location: Niskayuna, NY or West Mifflin, PA (fully on-site, no remote option)
**MUST HAVE AT LEAST A SECRET OR L CLEARANCE, WITH TS OR Q CLEARANCE PREFERRED. Those without this clearance level will not be considered.
The position of Systems Administrator supports FMP's High Current Test Facility (HCTF) network administration with the possibility of supporting the Generic Instrumentation and Control Network (GICNet). This includes administration of network services and storage systems, development of disaster recovery system, installation and configuration of computers and software, including network licensing, basic network development, and implementing requirements such as two-factor authentication.
Role/Responsibilities
Must have an understanding of Windows Server 2012/2016/2019, Active Directory, and Group Policy Object Management. Provide back-end user support for various Information Technology related problems, including problems associated with Windows servers. Perform Windows system administration tasks. Install and configure server operating systems. Ability and experience in applying and maintaining patch levels and security configurations as well as providing life cycle system upgrades. Experience in hardening of systems through implementation of Cyber Security principles, policies and requirements. Experience is preferred with the administration, implementation and maintenance of Virtualization technologies. Strong oral and written communication skills with experience in writing standard operating procedures. Resolve escalated Help Desk issues.
Required Skills
Experience in supporting Microsoft Windows server computing environment, specifically Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy Object management Knowledge and working experience with Windows Server (such as 2012/2016/2019 and future versions of the Windows Server Operating System). Experience with server and desktop virtualization including VMWare (such as vSphere and ESXi 6.7) product lines. Experience in hardening of systems through implementation of Cyber Security principles, policies, and requirements. Experience with scripting technologies such as VB Script or PowerShell.
