ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Schedule work for other custodial staff in his/her building based on the building's calendar of events Inspect the work of all subordinate personnel to maintain our high standards for our buildings Adjust classroom heaters, furnaces, etc./change furnace filters Take primary responsibility for opening and/or securing the building, including weekends, to provide protection against vandalism and theft Perform daily door checks throughout the day Be available for after-hours alarm calls Keep inventory of stock and reorder using the online work order system Complete monthly building and playground/sport facility inspections Clean all indoor facilities including floors, walls, windows and surfaces in all rooms and hallways including restrooms, locker rooms, offices, classrooms, gymnasiums and cafeterias Use cleaning materials and techniques as directed Restock disposable items such as soap and paper towels Keep a running inventory of custodial supplies that they are responsible for and request supplies as needed from the head custodian Make repairs to damaged furniture, doors, locks, window shades, etc. Assist with implementation of the district's pest management program Assist with seasonal grounds work such as snow, ice, leaf and trash removal and lawn care Respond to inquiries from staff, students, parents, and/or visitors for the purpose of providing information, taking appropriate action and/or directing to appropriate personnel for resolution Respond to immediate safety and/or operational concerns (e.g. facility damage, vandalism, alarms, etc.) for the purpose of taking appropriate action or notifying appropriate personnel or resolution Other duties as may be assigned For a complete listing of job responsibilities and fitness for duty requirements, see our Head Custodian Job Description at

TERMS:
$17.71+ per hour with possible steps for experience; Full-time with benefits, which include district-paid medical, dental, and life insurance valued at $6,943 annually, and PEERS retirement that is vested after 5 years EFFECTIVE:
