is a senior-level position responsible for transporting materials, supplies, and equipment between jobsites, yards, and vendors using Class A commercial vehicles. This role requires a
valid CDL Class A license with Non-Hazmat Tanker Endorsement (N) and Air Brake Endorsement , as well as extensive experience operating trailers and conducting complex deliveries. This driver serves as senior crew members, leading loading and unloading operations, performing vehicle inspections, and mentoring less experienced drivers while maintaining the highest standards of safety, accountability, and reliability.
Primary Responsibilities: CDL-Level Driving & Transport: Operate Class A commercial vehicles equipped with air brakes and tanker systems (non-hazardous) to transport tools, fluids, parts, and equipment to field crews and job locations. Lead Load Operations: Direct and participate in loading and unloading trailers using appropriate rigging, tie-down, and safety methods. Work with the yard crew to ensure all cargo is properly secured and transported without damage. Inspections & Equipment Coordination: Conduct pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections of vehicles, trailers, tie-down equipment, and tanker units. Report maintenance needs and coordinate with fleet and maintenance teams to keep all equipment compliant and road-ready. Inventory & Tool Management Support: Monitor and assist with delivery-related inventory and tool tracking. Ensure proper documentation and communication of shortages, damages, or irregularities. Team Leadership & Mentorship: Train and mentor other drivers. Lead by example in safe driving, proper load handling, and professional behavior. Regulatory Compliance: Maintain full compliance with DOT, FMCSA, and company policies. Complete logs, delivery records, inspection checklists, and all required documentation accurately and promptly. Key Competencies:
Proficiency in operating CDL Class A vehicles with tanker and air brake systems Advanced knowledge of load securement, inspections, and DOT regulations Leadership, coaching, and effective communication skills Strong attention to detail and proactive safety awareness Ability to work independently and manage delivery priorities Minimum Qualifications:
Valid CDL Class A license - Required Non-Hazmat Tanker Endorsement (N) - Required Air Brake Endorsement - Required Minimum 3-5 years of experience in logistics, heavy hauling, or equipment transport Demonstrated ability to transport loads such as construction fluids (non-hazardous), materials, and oversized equipment Familiarity with DOT, FMCSA, and OSHA safety requirements Ability to lift 50+ lbs, climb, bend, and perform physically demanding tasks Prior leadership or training experience preferred Working Conditions:
Frequent travel to jobsites, storage yards, and vendors Exposure to outdoor conditions, noise, dust, and active construction environments Physical labor including heavy lifting, loading/unloading, and tie-downs
