Cardiovascular Radiology Technologist (ESS Float)
In any patient care setting, as a Cardiovascular Radiology Technologist (ESS Float), you perform and assist cardiologists in performing angiographic procedures, obtaining films of good diagnostic quality while providing maximum comfort and safety to patients undergoing these procedures. By working on assignments and/or floating through Rochester Regional Health facilities, you provide care where it's needed most. In this role your primary responsibility is to provide on call coverage outside of core hours (evenings/nights/weekends). If called, you will be asked to report to the facility within 30 minutes to support patients in our community. Key Responsibilities: Responsible for radiography of patients in all assigned areas of cardiology Studies are completed in reasonable time frame and meet department quality standards Patients are handled safely and courteously Room preparation and cleanup, assistance in procedures, and aseptic/sterile technique are performed to established standards Post-procedure duties including transfer, storage, and hard copy of angiographic studies, are completed promptly and to department standards Maintains accountability for timely and proper service to patients during unsupervised shifts Information concerning patient and/or equipment problems is given routinely to oncoming staff and supervisor Response to on-call page is made promptly and arrival time is within thirty minutes when called in, to be documented by logging of times as per established procedure Maintains accountability for proper documentation of exams and related procedures All procedure documentation is put in the appropriate areas within the department and in the chart Proper patient-holding procedure is followed as outlined by state guidelines and is documented in appropriate logbook Orders, written in chart or verbally given by cardiologist are checked and carried out as documented in chart and related paperwork, as evidenced by review of charts and reports Maintains accountability for patient throughout the procedure Arrangements for patient transport and/or preparation are made utilizing department and other personnel through effective communication, as observed by supervisor and evidenced by cardiologist feedback. Transport of stable monitored patients to and from the cath lab area when required after successful completion of BLS training Transfer, storage and hard-copy recording of procedures are accomplished promptly, thoroughly and to established quality standards Assists in emergency situations as trained in BLS Actively participates in the maintenance of quality care within the hospital and department Participates in quality assurance procedures within the department to insure the highest level of patient care Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Two years college certificate or equivalent Two years of Radiologic Technologist experience and two years of Cardiovascular Radiology experience Required Licensure/Certification: NYS license in Radiologic Technology American Registry of Radiologic Technologist Certification (ARRT-R)
