Maintenance Technician

PrideStaff is searching for a 2nd or 3rd shift Maintenance Technician for their Akron manufacturing client. We are looking for strong candidates who have 3 or more years of industrial maintenance experience with plastics, rubber, or similar manufacturing machines. A successful Maintenance Technician for this position will be motivated to complete repairs on time, will have a sense of urgency about their work, and who can smoothly handle sudden changes in maintenance priorities as things come up during the day. This Maintenance Technician must focus on working safely while collaborating with the production staff and leadership. This is a full time, hourly position. Our client is a Drug Free Workplace who offers full benefits. Job responsibilities: Responsible for maintenance and repair of manufacturing machines such as extruders, thermoforming and trimming machines, injection molding machines, compressors, conveyors, grinders, fans, pump, electric motors, electric tools, and air tools Responsible for troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance of electrical components both of machinery and facility Perform unexpected repairs within the facility as well as on equipment Perform and/or assist in the troubleshooting, adjustments, repairs, and/or fabrication of all mechanical, electrical (to include PLC's), hydraulic, and pneumatic components of all plant processing equipment. Complete documentation with little or no supervision Assist in updating, developing, and improving equipment PM program Qualifications: A valid driver's license 3+ yrs experience with electrical troubleshooting and repair Must have experience with general machine maintenance repair Must have electrical experience. Certification preferred Must have working knowledge of the following: drill presses, power saws, power hand tools, overhead cranes Welding (MIG) and burning (acetylene cutting) experience preferred Ability to read and understand electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical drawings and schematics Must have working knowledge of electrical power and control circuits
