Athletic Department Intern
The Athletic Department Intern supports both internal and external operations across the department. This role includes assisting with compliance, event and facility management, marketing, student engagement, and general administrative tasks. Interns will be involved in planning and executing athletic events, ensuring NCAA compliance, and helping promote athletics across campus. Job Responsibilities: Assist with NCAA compliance tasks such as rule interpretation, research, and waiver preparation Support planning and operations for athletic events and facility rentals Help execute game-day operations, including setup and management for select sports Collaborate with marketing staff to enhance game presentation (scripts, promotions, entertainment) Engage students and the campus community to promote attendance and school spirit Assist with administrative projects, including policy updates and spreadsheet management Provide coverage for athletic events during evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed Perform other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Proven ability to work independently, prioritize, and complete tasks in a timely manner. Excellent communication skills required for working with diverse groups. Strong written communication skills; excellent organizational skills with accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion handling sensitive matters involving student-athletes. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree required Strong communication, organization, and time management skills Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays Experience in athletics, marketing, or event management preferred Saint Louis University is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
