Real Property Research (Delinquent Tax Accounts) Houston, TX | On-site

Purpose: To research and provide accurate information on ownership, liens, and legal descriptions of real property assessed under delinquent tax accounts. Key Responsibilities: Obtain title examination materials from title plants and/or county records. Conduct thorough searches to review deeds, probate documents, heirship materials, liens, and other encumbrances on property. Build clear chain-of-title histories identifying property owners, lien holders, and legal interests. Identify and document all voluntary and involuntary liens against property owners. Provide accurate legal descriptions of properties assessed under delinquent accounts. Prepare run sheets summarizing findings and maintain digital records of examination materials. Collaborate with other staff as needed; consult on complex or unclear matters. Perform other duties as assigned. Skills & Qualifications: MUST HAVE

previous knowledge of and familiarity with the

Title Data, Inc. system

. Working knowledge of real estate transactions and property descriptions. Strong understanding of property ownership and interests in real estate. Ability to interpret legal documents including deeds, wills, and heirship affidavits. Proficient in using title plants, courthouse records, and county clerk resources (especially in the Houston metro area). Comfortable working in a fast-paced, production-driven environment. Accurate and efficient typing and documentation skills. Familiarity with multiple sources of land title information preferred. Work Environment & Physical Demands: Office-based within the Houston PRC work area. May involve occasional travel to county courthouses. Tasks include sitting for extended periods, reviewing both digital and physical records, and handling large record books when required. Reporting Structure: Reports directly to the department manager or supervisor. Works independently but consults leadership when clarification is needed. May assist or mentor less experienced team members. Special Requirements: Prior experience in land title examination or closely related work is required. Must be able to pass a background check to gain access to Title Data, Inc. records.
