Key Responsibilities:
The Data Steward is focused at the platform level and has accountability for implementation and management of the COMET Data Strategy. The role will be responsible for ensuring the quality, accessibility, and compliance of the data elements while maintaining alignment with business goals and data governance standards. In this role, the individuals will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, subject matter experts (SMEs), Data Asset Owners, and Digital Product Owners to manage the full data asset lifecycle. The role will ensure that data elements are accurate, complete, and utilized effectively across the organization, driving transparency and value. The role will also work with the Business Application Owner and Business Process Owners to make sure that the master data is up to date at a source level and all reporting needs are covered. The Data Steward will also support the data governance framework by facilitating data quality, managing the decommissioning of obsolete data elements, and ensuring data is properly classified and accessible to authorized users. Key duties will include: Operational Data Management: Manage data quality on a daily and ad-hoc basis, ensuring data elements meet organizational standards. Address operational data needs and ensure timely data updates and maintenance. Collaboration with Business Stakeholders: Work with end-users and business SMEs to understand their data needs, providing support and guidance on how to use the data effectively to meet operational and strategic goals. Master Data Management: Collaborate with source and process owners to ensure the integrity of master data at a source level, executing processes for validation (UAT), and synchronization of master data. Creation and management of the data catalog, as well as establishment and maintenance of data governance process. Reporting and Analytics: Leverage native reporting capabilities to develop reports within internal systems and external software tools (Power BI, ThoughtSpot) to provide additional insights. Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the data elements under your stewardship, attending council meeting and demonstrating a deep understanding of their role and significance in supporting business processes and decision-making. Change management of data elements: Collaborate with Data Asset Owners to identify, update and repoint data elements due to source system changes or decommission obsolete data elements, ensuring that data assets remain relevant and optimized. Education:
University/Bachelor's or equivalent degree required Experience & Skills:
Required:
Minimum of seven (7) years of related in System application management (preferably in a healthcare related industry) Experience with data cataloging and management platforms (Collibra, Oval Edge, etc), Project Management Tools (Jira, Confluence etc). Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex data concepts in a clear, understandable way to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Demonstrated success in working in cross-functional, self-organized teams Understanding of GxP regulations, Computerized System Validation requirements, and administration of GxP applications Experience working with Quality Systems at a process and platform level Experience in High Performing Teams and/or Agile process for system development, including managing a product backlog/release plan Strong problem-solving skills and ability to analyze complex data challenges, apply critical thinking, and provide actionable solutions. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English Planning and organizational skills with a good understanding of priority setting Ability to work independently and in a team Preferred:
Experience in using collaboration tools, such as Mural, as well as visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc) Strong knowledge in Excel Other:
This position may require up to 10% domestic travel.
