Staff Accountant

Position Summary: The Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining financial records, preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and assisting with month-end and year-end closings. This role supports the finance department in ensuring accuracy and integrity of the company's financial data in compliance with GAAP and internal policies. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger. Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes. Reconcile bank statements, credit cards, and other balance sheet accounts. Maintain and update fixed asset schedules and depreciation entries. Review and process expense reports and vendor invoices as needed. Assist with the preparation of financial statements and management reports. Perform variance analysis on revenue and expenses. Support internal and external audits by preparing requested documentation. Monitor and maintain compliance with accounting policies and procedures. Collaborate with AP/AR teams and other departments to ensure accurate reporting. Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 1--3 years of relevant accounting experience. Strong understanding of GAAP. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle). Strong analytical and organizational skills. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
