Maintenance Tech II (Oak Hills)

The person hired for the position of Maintenance Tech II will work at our 3M OAK HILLS, CA. The impact you will make in this role: As a Maintenance Tech II you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by: Participation in the Tier 1, Maintenance communication process Assisting with the troubleshooting, repair, maintain, and improvement of mechanical equipment and components. These components may include: pneumatic and hydraulic components, bearings and mounting systems, gearboxes and transmissions, pumps, valves, pumping systems and piping repairs, clutch, brakes and drive components, couplings and drive linkages, gas fired and electric process ovens. Assist with the maintenance of vacuum pumps, hydraulic pumps, chemical feed pumps, centrifugal pumps, gear pumps, vane pumps, auger and screw pumps and pneumatic diaphragm pumps. Assist with the troubleshooting and repair of AC/DC voltage electrical equipment and may include replacing: wire motors and fuses, adjusting micro switches, proximity switches, photo eyes etc. Troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and improvement of systems components. These components may include: motors, drive control components and I/O, PLC devices & logic, working knowledge of controls programming, electrical sensors and field devices, AC/DC voltage electrical equipment, micro switches, proximity switches, photo eyes. Assist with the moving of material, equipment and machinery using standard methods of lifting, rigging, hoisting, blocking, skidding and rolling. Level and tram rolls. Operate PIVs to include but not limited to Forklift and the WAV. Assists in basic training of co-workers on an as-needed basis to include but not limited to training and performing basic welding and fabrication tasks. Perform Preventive, Predictive, and Emergency Maintenance inclusive of: production equipment, lifting, hoisting and material handling equipment, safety devices and facility utilities following standard procedures as indicated on PM route sheets or in equipment manuals Your skills and expertise: To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications: High School Diploma/GED or higher from an accredited institution and minimum of seven (7) years of mechanical and/or electrical maintenance experience (including apprenticeship experience) in a private, public, government or military environment OR High School Diploma/GED or higher from an accredited institution and minimum of five (5) years of mechanical and/or electrical maintenance experience (including apprenticeship experience) AND obtained the Certified Maintenance & Reliability Technician Certification. Available for weekend work, working overtime, rotating shifts, and/or short notice shift coverage. Obtain certification to operate PIVs to include Forklift and WAV within one (1)-month of starting the position Applicants meeting the basic qualifications above may be required to take and score Medium or High on the MSTB Test as part of the selection process. Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include: Two-year technical degree from an accredited institution Minimum of seven (7) years of mechanical and/or electrical experience in a private, public, government or military environment Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in non-woven fibers, web coating or a related industry. Basic electrical understanding, drives, motors, distribution systems Performs at an acceptable craft skill set level to meet plant, production and quality requirements. Possesses the skills to perform mathematical calculations needed to complete tasks Meets or exceeds requirements of quality, compliance, and task completion, along with any other requirements Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings Testing: Candidates must successfully complete 3M Maintenance Skilled Craft test battery.
