The Nebraska State Penitentiary (NSP) is currently seeking self-motivated, results-driven candidates for the position of Office Technician. Numerous training and development opportunities DUTIES: Provides administrative support to assigned Executive Staff at the NSP. Disseminates information in person, by phone, email, or correspondence to provide requested responses and data to written inquiries, visitors, agency employees, and others. Creates and modifies confidential filing/record keeping systems, manual and electronic. Types, enters, and scans narrative, numerical, and/or statistical information from rough draft and/or revised typed draft, documents, electronic communications, or voice recordings. Reviews and sends hard copy and electronic mail, form letters, and material. Takes and transcribes minutes and dictation from meetings. Arranges meetings to ensure the appropriate selection of time, location, agenda, and attendance list. Orders supplies and equipment to maintain the office inventory. REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Qualifications: Coursework/training or experience in public contact, customer service, and/or performing and applying office/clerical support procedures, including the use of a personal computer, associated software, and office equipment. Preferred Qualifications: At least one year of experience performing office/clerical/secretarial support functions. Experience taking meeting minutes and transcribing dictation. Proficiency using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook). Other: Must have a valid driver's license. Applicants accepting a job offer must pass the following pre-employment exams in this order: medical exam, and at a randomly announced time, pass a drug test. Once at the Staff Training Academy, must successfully complete the fully paid NE Corrections Training Program. Benefits
