Metrology Technician
Location: Everett Primary Electrical Laboratory Team: FCAL Service Team
Primary Electrical Standards Are you passionate about precision, measurement science, and making a real-world impact? Join our dynamic and impact-driven team at the Everett Primary Electrical Laboratory, where we provide measurement traceability at the highest level to our customers. As a Metrology Technician, you'll play a key role in maintaining and advancing our calibration capabilities, supporting critical electrical standards, and ensuring the integrity of our measurement systems. What You'll Do
Perform calibration and maintenance of primary and secondary electrical standards in accordance with published schedules and ISO 17025 requirements. Collaborate with internal teams and customers to troubleshoot service issues, communicate delays, and deliver timely solutions. Develop expertise on calibration procedures, equipment use and best practices to become a mentor to fellow technicians. This would include visual management, root cause analysis, and Kaizen events. Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to a lean, high-performance lab environment. On occasions the position requires flexibility to work extended hours or weekends when needed to meet customer demand. Ensure timely and accurate calibration services to support customer satisfaction and traceability goals. Document calibration results and maintain records in compliance with ISO 17025 and internal quality systems. What You Bring
3+ years of experience in a calibration laboratory, with a focus on electrical calibrations. High school diploma or equivalent required; PMEL/TMDE military training or technical schooling preferred. Strong understanding of electrical measurement principles, standards, and terminology. Proficiency in intermediate-level math and data analysis. Ability to interpret technical documents, standard work instructions, and calibration procedures. Experience with ISO 17025 working in a laboratory environment is highly desirable. Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office. Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
