The requirements listed below are representative of knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.Market Research & Strategic PlanningAnalyze trends by vessel type and monitor emerging regulations and government policiesConduct competitor benchmarking and develop entry strategies for new marketsCustomer Engagement & Business DevelopmentIdentify potential clients including shipowners, operators, and government entitiesLead meetings with international clients and attend key industry events (e.g., Gastech, CMA Shipping)Proposal & Quotation ManagementRespond to RFI/RFPs with tailored proposals and pricing strategiesCollaborate with design, production, planning, and estimating teams to prepare technical and commercial offersContract Negotiation & ExecutionDraft and negotiate LOIs and Shipbuilding ContractsWork with legal and finance teams to finalize termsPost-Contract SupportServe as main liaison with clients throughout the project lifecycleManage specification changes, claims, and commercial adjustmentsInternal Reporting & CoordinationPrepare executive-level reports and sales performance updatesAlign with HQ stakeholders to ensure consistent communication and approvalsCOMPETENCIESStrong problem-solving skills, including issue identification, key analyses, and recommendation development (practical things to get on track)Excellent modeling and forecasting skills, including financial understanding and analysisExecutive presentation development and deliveryAble to communicate effectively with all levels of the organizationAble to coordinate across the organization and lead a teamProficiency in business management software, data analysis tools, Microsoft Office (e.g., Powerpoint, Excel, Word)Adaptability and organizational skills and understandingIntegrityConflict resolutionStrategic thinkingWillingness and ability to work as a team memberEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE5+ years of experience in shipyard marketing or business developmentStrong understanding of shipbuilding industry and commercial vesselsBilingual proficiency in Korean and English preferredWORK ENVIRONMENTEnvironmental exposures are similar to those found in most heavy industrial settings and may include noise, heat, cold, vibration, dust, fumes and smoke.
