Candidates will undergo a week-long training class on these machines, followed by mentorship on the production floor to learn the production process. You will be responsible for setting up the sewing machine with the correct thread, increasing production count to expected output levels within 13 weeks, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and ensuring products meet quality standards. Sewers can advance through four levels, each with a pay increase.Work EnvironmentThis is a Contract Manufacturing Medical Device Company that has experienced 30% growth over the last year and employs 800 people at the St Charles Location. The production floor is predominantly composed of industrial sewing machines and operates in a clean GMP environment where hair nets and beard nets (if applicable) are required. The environment is not climate-controlled, so it can get hot during summer months, but fans are provided throughout the production area. The workforce is diverse, speaking over 5-6 languages, and candidates who are not fluent in English can succeed with translation technology. Shifts include the 1st shift from 6am to 2:30pm, with optional early start and Saturday hours, and the 2nd shift from 3:00pm to 11:30pm, with optional extended hours and Saturday work.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of St. Charles, Illinois.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
