Full Stack Development, you will lead a team of high-performing engineers responsible for building intuitive and scalable web and backend systems that power core seller and supply chain operations. You'll be a key enabler in Walmart Global Tech's broader strategy to integrate Agentic AI
AI systems that can operate with autonomy, context awareness, and goal-driven behavior
into platform architecture, operations, and user experiences. This role is for hands-on leaders who can architect, lead, and grow full-stack engineering teams to deliver impactful business features. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams including Product, UX, Program, and Platform to define, execute, and support large-scale services and applications. About Team:
Our team works closely with our US stores and eCommerce business to better serve customers by empowering team members, stores, and merchants with technological innovation. From groceries and entertainment to sporting goods and crafts, Walmart U.S. offers an extensive selection that our customers value, whether they shop online at Walmart.com, through one of our mobile apps, or in-store. Focus areas include customers, stores and employees, in-store service, merchant tools, merchant data science, and search and personalization.
What you'll do: Key Responsibilities Team Leadership & People Management
Build, coach, and lead a high-performing team of full-stack engineers. Drive team hiring, career development, performance evaluation, and succession planning. Foster a culture of ownership, technical excellence, collaboration, and innovation.
Technical Execution & Project Delivery
Own architecture and delivery of scalable microservices and responsive web applications. Drive design and implementation of cloud-native, event-driven systems that meet throughput, SLA, and uptime requirements. Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to engineering best practices and standards. Lead sprint planning, execution, and review cycles in partnership with PM and TPM teams.
Production & Quality Oversight
Ensure system reliability, availability, and performance across development and production environments. Drive incident management, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement in production operations. Implement effective observability strategies using monitoring, logging, and alerting tools.
Collaboration & Cross-Functional Partnerships
Work closely with Product Managers, UX Designers, TPMs, and other Engineering leaders to align roadmaps and strategies. Influence and partner across Walmart's global tech organization for platform consistency and tech innovation.

As a Sr. Engineering Manager in WFS Tech, you'll: Lead the design of full-stack platforms that integrate with AI agents making real-time decisions (e.g., intelligent seller onboarding, fulfillment predictions, exception handling). Guide your team to build services that expose decision points and signals that AI agents can consume and act upon. Foster AI-native engineering practices, including structured event logging, model feedback loops, and explainability interfaces. Collaborate with Walmart's Data Science and AI Platform teams to integrate APIs, inference services, and learning pipelines into microservices and UI layers. Support experimentation frameworks that allow agents to learn and evolve over time while minimizing risk to live operations. What you'll bring: Basic Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science or related field. 12+ years of total experience in software development. 3+ years of experience managing full-stack or backend software engineering teams. Technical Skills and Experience To be effective in this role, the candidate must have deep, hands-on technical experience. They should have demonstrated strong architecture, design, and implementation skills across the stack. Full Stack Development Expertise Built and scaled full-stack applications using ReactJS, React Hooks, Redux, NextJS, TypeScript, ES6, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3. Designed and developed highly customizable, reusable, and responsive frontend components. Applied design patterns such as Promises, RxJS, Observables, and application flow control in large-scale web apps. Backend & Middleware Development Developed microservices using Java, Spring Boot, and REST APIs. Integrated asynchronous messaging systems such as Kafka and JMS to ensure scalable and loosely coupled architectures. Built systems that meet stringent SLAs, throughput, and fault-tolerance requirements in a distributed setup. Testing & Quality Engineering Defined and implemented automated testing using TestCafe, Jest, Mock Service Worker, and/or Junit/TestNG. Championed test-driven development (TDD) and automated regression frameworks. Performance Optimization & Observability Tuned applications for memory and CPU performance, using tools like Chrome DevTools, Lighthouse, and/or custom profilers. Implemented logging and monitoring using Splunk, Grafana, and telemetry for production health tracking. Cloud & DevOps Built and deployed applications in public cloud environments, particularly Azure and/or GCP. Designed CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Maven, and GitHub. Managed deployments across environments (Dev, QA, Prod) using automated tools. Data & Storage Technologies Worked with relational databases like Oracle and non-relational systems like Cosmos DB, ElasticSearch, Cassandra, or Solr. Implemented optimized data access and indexing strategies for high performance.
