Cath Lab Tech, PRN
JOB PURPOSE:
Under the supervision of the Director of Cardiac Services, the incumbent performs duties involving direct patient care and operation of highly sophisticated radiographic and computer equipment in the interventional cardiac catheterization laboratory. The Technologist will assist the Cardiologist and/or Interventional Cardiologist during diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures. The Technologist must possess a general knowledge of infection control guidelines, universal precautions, sterile procedures, and must work cohesively with a team. RESPONSIBLE FOR:
Assists the physician in the performance of invasive cardiac and electrophysiology procedures. Has thorough knowledge of all Cath Lab/EP Equipment and maintenance of it and administers direct/indirect care to patients undergoing invasive cardiac procedures. Able to provide direct and indirect cardiovascular clinical care during established procedures. MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
1-year Healthcare Imaging, Exercise Physiology, Paramedic, Respiratory, or RN experience. No experience required if a graduate of an RCIS program. MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
Based on healthcare experienced (see above) applicable license required. If a graduate of RCIS program, no license is required, however RCIS must be obtained within 24 months of hire. ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
BCLS and ACLS Required
