Penn State Berks is seeking a dynamic and student-focused individual to join our team. This role combines responsibilities in both financial aid and admissions, supporting prospective and current students throughout their journey to and through the University. The ideal candidate will be passionate about student success, possess strong communication skills, and demonstrate cultural competency, especially in working with Hispanic and Latino communities. Bilingual fluency in Spanish is highly preferred. Job Duties Educate and assist prospective and current students and their families with the financial aid process. Provide daily financial aid counseling and support, including financial literacy education. Collaborate with the Bursar's Office to help students explore options for paying current and past-due bills. Act as a communications liaison for the Financial Aid Office. Support students recruitment through daily conversations with prospective students and families. Maintain relationships with school counselors and community organizations, particularly those serving Hispanic and Latino populations. Assist with group visits to campus. Update and maintain Spanish-language admissions materials and web content. Advise and counsel students on University programs, admissions requirements, and financial aid eligibility. Communicate effectively with internal and external audiences. Participate in training and professional development for the Enrollment Management team. Complete other assignments as directed. Schedule: This opening allows for up to 20 hours per week, with an agreed-upon schedule determined in collaboration with the supervisor. Scheduling will be based on departmental needs and may vary throughout the academic year. Compensation: The starting rate for this job is $20/per hour. Background Checks/Clearances This position requires the following clearances in addition to applicable background checks: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check. Campus Security Crime Statistics Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR). The ASR includes crime statistics and institutional policies concerning campus security, such as those concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, and other matters.
