Merck
Pharmacometric Data Scientist
Develop data standards, tools, and automated workflows to ensure high quality datasets, enable rapid data visualization, and optimize novel pharmacometric analysis and reporting workflows. Collaborate with Quantitative Pharmacology & Pharmacometrics (QP2) scientists and key partners, such as bioanalytical sciences, statistics, statistical programming, and clinical data management, across therapeutic areas to drive delivery of high-quality datasets. Monitor the flow of data between complex clinical data systems and the processes surrounding that data, drive creation of new data standards to enable analysis and workflow automation and implement new data initiatives (e.g. digital data). Obtain feedback from QP2 scientists and utilize this information to guide the development of new customizable pharmacometric tools, user-defined data visualization dashboards, and flexible analysis workflows. Build tools (e.g. RShiny apps) to streamline creation of key visualizations and statistical analyses used for diagnostics and reporting to shorten the turnaround time of deliverables. Support Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) initiatives within the department and further provide input into optimization of processes for data flow, analysis and storage across the company's systems. 10% domestic travel required. Location: 126 E. Lincoln Ave., Rahway, NJ 07065 Minimum Required Education:
A master's degree in data science, Computer Science, or a closely related field OR a bachelor's degree in data science, Computer Science, or a closely related field and 2 years of experience in the position offered or a related role. Required Experience and Skills:
Independent development of at least one rshiny application Demonstrate independent development of at least one data dashboard with customizable user interfaces to visualize data. Demonstrate proficiency in programming languages such as R (including tidyverse, ggplot2, shiny, plotly and caret packages) and Python (including pandas, nltk and sklearn packages). Demonstrate proficiency in cleaning, analyzing, visualizing large datasets (e.g. greater than 50K rows). Demonstrate proficiency in standardizing datasets or building standardized databases? Demonstrate proficiency in using preclinical and clinical data, particularly in the healthcare or pharmaceutical space. Demonstrate proficiency in AI/ML such as natural language processing, machine learning algorithms, and causal inference. Salary: $111,966 - $163,900/yr. The successful candidate will be eligible for annual bonus and long-term incentive, if applicable.
