The Phlebotomist is responsible for the collection of blood samples through the use of standard venipuncture and microtainer techniques. This role involves receiving laboratory specimens and processing samples for laboratory testing. Additionally, the Phlebotomist performs clerical and client service functions within the Laboratory as requested. This position requires a meticulous approach to handling specimens, ensuring accuracy and integrity in testing processes, and providing excellent customer service to clients. The role demands a high level of professionalism and the ability to perform tasks efficiently under the guidelines set forth by the healthcare organization. The value you'll bring to the team: Ability to perform venipuncture and microtainer collection. Ensure specimens are correctly labeled and orders are received. Ability to properly prioritize routine specimen receipt in the laboratory on a first in first out basis. Stat and Alert specimens are prioritized before routine orders. Follows appropriate safety policies including the appropriate use of PPE, handwashing, and hazardous chemical handling.
