Repair Worker - General Repair Worker

Under general supervision, perform semi-skilled jobs in a variety of trade areas. Employee replaces parts, makes minor adjustments to machinery, and repairs buildings, equipment, and miscellaneous articles. Employee also performs the installation, maintenance and repair of locks, doors, and hardware; opening of locks on doors and safes, changing of lock combinations, resolving immediate operational and or safety concerns, assisting other skilled trades, and ensuring that tools and materials are available at jobsite. Also perform demolition on certain projects and assist with snow removal. Research parts and materials for purchase. Helps maintain attic stock. Work is done in accordance with established procedures, and frequent and detailed instructions are given on new or complex work. Repair and maintenance of buildings and equipment. Make minor repairs and adjustments to plumbing, electrical wiring and equipment, furniture, shelves, doors and windows, and machines of various kinds such as lawn mowers, grounds equipment, water pumps, compressors, etc. Office, classroom, and event set up and tear down. Perform as a team member of the Facilities Management Division. Knowledge of general methods and practices of a variety of trade areas (e.g., mechanics, masonry, welding, electrical, plumbing and carpentry) sufficient to assist licensed trades workers and to repair machinery, tools, and facilities in a timely and safe manner. Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety measures related to trades work sufficient to safely and efficiently perform the job duties. Ability to safely use hand and power hand tools. Ability to safely operate and maintain trucks, tractors, and other ground and road maintenance equipment. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Ability to provide work instructions to unskilled helpers. Ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting up to 100lbs, carrying and bending. Monday
