Assistant Bindery Machine Operator
Oversees and readies all bindery equipment to produce quality products based on specifications of job ticket; operates and performs preventive maintenance and repairs on all bindery equipment. Responsible for producing materials in the printing and copying processes throughout the plant. Responsible for meeting production deadlines and output schedules as assigned by supervisors. Responsible for arranging assigned work in most efficient and cost-effective manner to accomplish work. Perform associated copying/binding/finishing work. Ensure quality control. Performs general tasks and routine assignments. Works under moderate supervision with some latitude for independent judgment. 70% Readies all bindery and press equipment to produce quality finished products based on specifications of job ticket; operates and performs preventive maintenance and repairs on all bindery and press equipment; performs associated copying tasks and binding, mailing, and/or finishing work. Ensures quality control measures and pulls samples for quality testing. Works closely with customer service to develop print material for advertising, manuals, training materials, or other publications. 20% Performs maintenance daily or as needed for various pieces of equipment; cleaning and mixing of chemicals needed for equipment. Monitors inventory levels and alerts supervisor of ordering needs. Inputs information in computer system to track materials and labor. 10% Performs other plant-related duties as required. Minimum Education Required
High School Graduate or equivalent education/experience Required Qualifications Experience in working in bindery within a print operation. Requires thorough knowledge of bindery and mail equipment, materials, and methods of operation; experience and knowledge of paper and differences in stock; strong problem-solving skills; ability to meet production schedules and ability to multi-task. Knowledge of all facets of printing and copying (pre-press, pressroom, bindery, and mailing); ability to lift 50 pounds and stand for long periods. Additional Information
The target hiring range for this job profile is $18.50 - 24.50 per hour. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to, education, years of experience, internal equity, etc. Function - Marketing and Communications Sub Function - Print Production Services Band - Individual Contributor - Technical Level - T1 Location
