Join us and make a difference in the lives of pets and their families every day. We are currently seeking to add a Chemotherapy Technician to our Internal Medicine Department! Position Summary: The Chemotherapy Technician role is a fast-paced, high-energy position ideal for a skilled technician who thrives in a collaborative specialty practice environment. You will be trained in administering and handling chemotherapy if you have no prior experience and you'll work alongside board-certified specialists and highly trained support staff to provide exceptional care for hospitalized patients, administer chemotherapy, and ensure smooth daily operations within the department. Compensation: $22+ per hour, compensation based on licensure, critical skillset, and field experience levels. Schedule: Full Time weekdays 4x10 hour shifts Key Responsibilities: Patient Care & Monitoring Assess and record vitals, food/water intake, elimination, and behavior changes Administer medications (oral, topical, SQ, IM, IV) and treatments as prescribed Maintain and monitor IV fluids, oxygen supplementation, and wound/bandage care Collect samples (blood, urine, fecal, fine needle aspirates) Administer chemotherapy (after training or with prior experience) Technical Skills (for LVTs and trained assistants) Place and maintain peripheral & urinary catheters Perform lab tests and process results Prepare and monitor anesthesia (LVTs only) Assist in CPR efforts Operational Support Stock and clean treatment areas, handle laundry and dishes Maintain chemotherapy drug inventory Document patient records (EzyVet) and manage calls (RingCentral) Transport patients within the hospital Collaboration Work closely with doctors, technicians, and assistants Attend mandatory meetings and training sessions Note: Duties may evolve based on department needs or leadership direction. Who We're Looking For: Required: High School diploma or equivalent Preferred: Associate or Bachelor's degree in veterinary technology LVT license (preferred, not required) Previous experience as a veterinary technician, ideally in oncology or specialty care Prior chemotherapy handling experience (you will be trained if no prior training) Strong communication skills and attention to detail Ability to work efficiently in a high-stress environment Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role; fluency in multiple languages a plus!
