Status: Temporary (August - October 2025)
Classification: Exempt
Schedule: Weekdays/Weekends/Evenings
Hours: 40 hours/week
POSITION SUMMARY
The Operations Manager will further the mission of Roundup River Ranch by preparing creative, intentional onsite camp programming, supporting Outreach Programming and actively engaging in recruitment efforts (camper and volunteers) in preparation for the 2026 Summer Camp season. This is a full-time, temporary contract from mid-August through the end of October.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Develop creative and intentional themed summer & possibly family camp programming (e.g., all camp evening activities, 2026 themes with connected programming) with considerations of the organization's stated mission and Program Quality Assessment in mind. Work with the Program team to review PQA data from summer 2025 and help create plans for 2026 Support and collaborate with the Outreach Director with delivery (not creation) of Fall Camp Clubs and Howdy Hangouts. Work with the Outreach Director on the creation of an outreach volunteer tracker Engage in recruitment of campers, volunteers and seasonal staff for the 2026 onsite camp season in collaboration with the Community Engagement and Recruitment Manager including but not limited to exploration of college campus recruitment, pre-med school application shadowing experience and outreach, medical affiliation groups. Assist additional team members in camper application reviews and processes ahead of 2026 camp season Review and support with finalizing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) for Camp Operations. EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in education, child development, recreational therapy or a related field required; equivalent experience in out-of-school time programing or youth development may be considered in lieu of a degree Previous medical camping experience preferred Previous experience with program development and evaluation preferred Ability and interest in learning new things Ability to work independently and take initiative.
