Terms and Conditions apply.**Acute Care Surgical Services is a nationally recognized AACN Sliver Beacon 28 bed inpatient unit and Center of Bariatric Excellence providing care for Surgical Oncology, Plastic Surgery, Microsurgery, Bariatric Surgery, Colo-Rectal Surgery and Urology patients. This diverse unit includes general and progressive level of care beds and provides the highest quality care for a broad spectrum of surgical diseases including the most critically ill and injured patients. VCU Medical Center is the only Level I Trauma Center in the region verified by the State of Virginia and the American College of Surgeons for Adult, Pediatric, and Burn trauma. Scheduling requirements: Must be available to work three (3) 12 hour shifts per week from 7:00pm-7:00am and three (3) weekend shifts (Saturday or Sunday) per six-week schedule. The Clinical Coordinator facilitates patient flow, coordinates activities and communication for the clinical area nursing unit during his/her assigned shift. This person serves as a resource and leader for patients, staff, health care providers, administration and other disciplines. The Clinical Coordinator ensures that patient care is delivered to all patients in an efficient, caring and courteous manner.Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire:Current RN licensure in Virginia or eligible compact stateLicensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for continued employment:Current RN licensure in Virginia AHA BLS HCP Certification or equivalentExperience REQUIRED:Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experienceCharge Nurse experience or supervisory experienceExperience PREFERRED:Academic Health Care experienceExperience with similar patient population in either an acute care setting or as applicable to area of practiceEducation/training REQUIRED:Diploma or Associates Degree from a professional nursing program recognized and/or approved by the corresponding state's Board of Nursing.All registered nurses without a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (or higher) will be required to enroll in an approved RN to BSN program within two years of their start date and to complete the program within five years of their start date.Education/training PREFERRED:Certification in specialty area.
