Job #: 159256 Title: Mechanical Maintenance Technician Location: Martinsville, VA Salary Range: $30/hr. - $35/hr., depending on experience Position: MAINTENANCE MECHANIC Description: AmeriStaff Employment & Staffing solutions is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Technician

to join our clients' team at their Martinsville, VA facility. This position is responsible for performing troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance on manufacturing equipment, ensuring operational reliability in a heavy industrial environment.

Pay: $30/hr. to $35/hr., depending on experience Responsibilities of the Mechanical Maintenance Technician:

Perform troubleshooting and repairs on hydraulic circuits, pneumatic systems, and power transmission systems (gearboxes, couplings, chain drives) Install, troubleshoot, and maintain tapered, cylindrical, spherical roller, and sleeve bearings Conduct welding, machining, and fabrication tasks, including MIG and TIG welding Repair and troubleshoot reducers and gearboxes Perform preventive, predictive, and general maintenance on machine tools and equipment Review blueprints and manufacturing manuals to determine maintenance needs and schedules Utilize and train others on preventive and predictive maintenance programs Practice safe rigging fundamentals for component changeouts Adhere to all safety procedures including lockout/tagout, fall protection, and confined space protocols Complete required paperwork and computer entries, including work orders and maintenance logs Maintain cleanliness and organization in assigned work areas Support cross-functional team members and assist with training when needed Requirements for the Mechanical Maintenance Technician:

High school diploma or equivalent

and

three years of relevant maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment

or

a relevant two-year technical degree with one year of related experience Strong understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, lubrication practices, and bearing maintenance/replacement Welding and machining skills, with basic electrical circuit knowledge (including fuse and small motor replacement) Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and blueprints Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail Basic computer skills to create and complete work orders using a CMMS (training provided) Ability to work at heights, in pits, and in confined spaces, and lift/move up to 50 lbs.
