Long-Term 1st Shift Material Handler Opportunity
An established company in Rockford, IL has a long-term 1st shift material handler opportunity. The material handler maintains incoming and outgoing product movement at the facility. 1st shift: Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm, includes a 30 min lunch. Candidates must be able to communicate effectively to team members and management staff. Also, can read information through warehouse computer software. 3-5 years of warehouse experience and also experience operating a sit-down forklift. Follows all policies and guidelines regarding workplace safety and product quality. Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed. Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas. Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code. Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, or other stock items and distributes items to production areas. Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets. Marks materials with identifying information. Opens bales, crates, and other containers. Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed. Weighs or counts items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards. Uses computer to enter records. Drives material handling equipment to transport stored items. Loads and unloads trailers of palletized and non-palletized product. Utilizes manual and automated material handling equipment. Practices and adheres to appropriate safety and hygiene guidelines/procedures for safe housekeeping and personal protection. May perform other duties as required. Contributes to division results and performance. Take care of internal and external customer needs and expectations. Physical Requirements : Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds on a frequent basis. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis. Must be able to climb and descend stairs. Must be able to bend, carry, reach, push, and pull on a frequent basis. Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing. May work indoors and outdoors as needed. Employee must be able to operate a computer and communicate via telephone. Skills Shipping & receiving, work orders, stocking shelves, sorting, stage, documentation system, cycle counts, forklift, loading/unloading trucks, distribution center, warehouse distribution, warehouse inventory control Additional Skills & Qualifications 3-5 years of experience. High School Diploma or equivalent required. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
