Maintenance Team Member
We are hiring highly experienced maintenance team members. Our Maintenance team is responsible for managing all aspects of the maintenance function to ensure safe working conditions and to meet or exceed regulatory compliance. They keep our facilities operating efficiently, repairing any problems when they are found, and performing preventive maintenance on buildings, structures, and grounds. They partner with the management team to create and maintain a safe work environment. Job Description
Perform advanced mechanical repairs at our buildings, including plumbing, lighting, heating, air conditioning, farm equipment maintenance, etc. Check/maintain incubators, hatchers, water tanks, chicken counters, etc. Repairing wooden structures, working with chicken wire Replacing electrical and plumbing fixtures Cutting Plexiglas to fit aluminum frames Routine maintenance on buildings Checking to ensure equipment is operating properly and repairing it if needed Working with PVC waterline and fittings Installing Cat6 wiring, security cameras, and PVC electrical conduit Pulling electrical wires through conduit and cleaning floor drains Delivering parts to different locations and picking up supplies from vendors Attending morning meetings and engaging in safety videos and training Sweeping up work area, emptying trash cans, safety checks of emergency lighting, GFI outlets, and fire extinguishers Putting inventory away and organizing the stockroom. Other duties may be assigned, including those not listed on this job description. Expectations for the employee include working with other maintenance team members until competent and learning how our proprietary equipment works and how to repair it. Qualifications
Preferred experience in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC, preferably in an agriculture-based setting, although not required. Proficient knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, flooring, masonry, electrical, welding, roofing, machinery, mechanics, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC). Must be able to use basic hand tools. Ability to pass FIT check for masks. Must be able to read, understand, and follow task-specific instructions, such as Lock-out/Tag-out procedures. Must be a team player with strong verbal skills and a positive attitude. Physical Requirements
A person in this position is expected to walk/stand for extended periods of time. Ability to use measuring tools and measure precisely for cutting with power and/or hand tools. Frequently carry/lift objects and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs., including lumber and metal building materials. Ability to perform repetitive tasks that require hand/wrist dexterity. Ability to work from aerial lift w/ fall restraint system at around 20 ft. Must be able to safely pick up materials stored at ground level. Must be able to apply 50 lbs. of force to push carts. Must be able to frequently kneel/squat. Must be capable of performing tasks squatting at floor level or on knees. Must be able to conduct repetitive tasks. Must be able to use both fixed and portable ladders (step and/or extension ladders). Utilize a variety of tools, including, but not limited to, drills, hammers, saws, metal grinders, blowtorches, and welders. Tools used mainly consist of power tools, but some hand tools are also used. Ability to wear required personal protective equipment for identified tasks, such as ear muffs, ear plugs, safety glasses, welding helmets, work gloves, work boots, harness, etc. Work Conditions
Exposed at times to airborne particles, such as dust and dander. Exposed to various noise levels, sometimes exceeding the 85-dBA action level set by OSHA. Proper PPE hearing protection will be provided. Over the course of assigned tasks, a person in this position will be exposed to chemicals, such as detergents, disinfectants, and formaldehyde.
