Forklift Operator

We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to efficiently pull orders for shipment to customers. The role involves managing Direct Ship Ports, Truck Load Reports, and other shipping functions. You will be responsible for moving parts from the Market Area to Assembly Lines and from lines to Finished Goods, supplying Presses with containers, and moving stampings to the Market Area. Additionally, you will operate a switcher truck to move trailers as needed. Responsibilities

Ensure all orders are pulled and shipped efficiently. Manage and execute shipping functions, including Direct Ship Ports and Truck Load Reports. Supply assembly lines with necessary parts and move finished goods to the designated area. Operate a switcher truck to move trailers as needed. Observe and adhere to all safety rules and regulations. Maintain a clean and organized work area through 5S implementation. Conduct daily safety checks and inspections for towmotor operations. Inspect racks and shipments for damage and ensure proper packaging. Ensure bar code labels are accurate and in good condition for scanning. Follow proper material handling procedures and support company goals. Work overtime and weekends as required to meet production needs. Lead by example in attendance, quality, and accountability. Essential Skills

3-4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment. Forklift, sit-down forklift, and tow motor experience. Ability to lift 50 lbs without mechanical assistance. Good basic math knowledge. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational and coordination skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Must successfully complete tow motor training and certification. Experience in material handling, loading, shipping, receiving, and order picking. Why Work Here?

The position is based in an automotive manufacturing environment. The role requires adherence to safety protocols and the ability to work in a fast-paced setting. Employees are expected to maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all company guidelines. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portland, Tennessee. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $17.85/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
