Assembly Marking Operator
The purpose of this position is to provide accurate and stable workflow to the production floor of the necessary ID's for the build needs. This requires following written instructions and details, programming equipment used for ID markers, as well as kitting material to specific jobs. This position will require learning how to program the equipment, and working on the computer as needed. Essential job functions include: importing connector and sleeve files, filling requisitions, creating ID's for connectors and wires, verifying wire count, kitting wire physically, and adhering to all KMM safety policies and practices by wearing the appropriate personal protective equipment. Assist with LEAN manufacturing by becoming a practitioner and assisting with the following: trained to basic Lean principles and practices, make process improvements at the individual and unit level, apply Lean Problem Solving tools to projects at the individual and unit level, participate as a strong process improvement team member. This individual has the responsibility and authority to carry out assigned tasks. Performs other related duties and assignments as required. The position requires the employee to have proficient computer skills as well as knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and wire cutting software. This position requires the ability to perform computer entries accurately and in a timely fashion to ensure that cut files and material inventory is accurate and accountable. Requires the ability to communicate (verbally and written) fluently in the English language. Able to work in a fast paced environment, self-motivated, work with interruptions. Requirements may be modified at the time of the opening, and will be based on current labor availability and staffing needs. In these instances, the employee must be able to meet all requirements within 180 days of accepting the position. This position requires the daily use of a computer and computer related software. The employee must be able to accurately and proficiently enter and retrieve data as needed for the job tasks. Standard office equipment such as copiers, calculators, etc. Sumimark 4 Sleeving machine, Brady label machine, various other hand tools. Physical requirements include the ability to see .37 on the Graham Field chart with or without magnification to be able to read wire identification which is critical to the identification process. This function requires standing for long periods of time while verifying and kitting wire and sitting. Reaching, bending or stretching as needed to move product to work surface. Requires minimal lifting of 10 to 50lbs for transporting material to required destinations.
