This position offers the opportunity to manage eDiscovery for a wide variety of litigation and legal matters. The eDiscovery Specialist reports to the Sr Program Manager of Global Information and Discovery Management. This is an individual contributor role. This role involves managing eDiscovery activities for litigation, government and internal investigations and other legal matters. The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter with expertise in eDiscovery, litigation, knowledge management, and legal operations. This expertise should be paired with strong relationship building skills, technical proficiency, organizational skills, and the ability to facilitate effectively. Success in this role requires thriving in a regulated, matrixed environment, being a respected leader and team player, and demonstrating clear communication and strong collaboration across the organization. This role will require less than 10% of travel to enhance collaboration and ensure successful completion of projects. In general, the following responsibilities apply to the Sr. Principal eDiscovery Compliance Specialist role. This includes, but is not limited to the following: Manage eDiscovery activities, including legal hold processes, data collection, processing, and document review workflows. Partner with third-party vendors to facilitate eDiscovery project management and ensure timely, accurate delivery of services. Utilize advanced knowledge of Relativity and other eDiscovery platforms to support searching, document review, and data analysis frameworks. Collaborate with IT resources to facilitate legal data collections across the O365 ecosystem, including Purview, and other tools. Contribute to the development of metrics related to eDiscovery activities to drive cost reduction and process improvement initiatives. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in eDiscovery operations. Educate and raise awareness of Medtronic's eDiscovery practices with outside counsel and vendors. Leverage AI technologies and tools to optimize workflows and explore innovative solutions in the eDiscovery space. Create and maintain solutions to collect and track information across a large and varied information environment. Support the building of a robust eDiscovery program by fostering collaboration between Legal, IT, and external stakeholders. Must Have: Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree. 7+ years of relevant experience OR advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience. Desired/Preferred Qualifications (optional): Relevant experience in a law firm, corporate legal department, or legal professional services, including legal operations and data management. Proficient in process mapping, project management, and Lean or Six Sigma principles, concepts, practices, and standards. Experience working effectively within a matrixed organizational structure. Demonstrated ability to proactively identify and resolve issues in a creative and collaborative manner. Paralegal background or experience in legal operations. Technical and IT expertise. Project Management certification (e.g., PMP, Agile, etc).
