Manager, Accounting
The Accounting Manager is primarily responsible for overseeing and directing the month-end close activities and financial controls for the Buildings and Components divisions within the Shelters business unit. Core Responsibilities Include: Review and post journal entries in accordance with US GAAP Review account reconciliations and investigate outstanding balance issues Month end, Quarter end, and Year-end financial analysis and reporting Initiate, manage, and execute process improvement initiatives Providing financial analysis of key metrics, including timely issuance of accurate reports to internal customers Investigating and resolving transactional processing issues Performing periodic financial statement analysis and reporting, including roll forward schedules Executing internal controls (SOX) and assisting with internal/external audit requests Providing ad-hoc support to Division and Segment leadership Other Position Requirements This position requires interaction with all levels of employees, from clerical to senior management. Critical to the success of this role is the development of productive relationships and the establishment of clear work relationships with internal customers that are considered key to success in the role. Collaborative work style to ensure all work is completed timely and accurately Train and evaluate employees by providing feedback to enhance performance and development while promoting team cohesion This position reports directly to the Senior Manager, Accounting and requires the ability to work independently, with limited required direction and guidance, and provide appropriate direction to other team members. This position involves ad-hoc research projects as requested by various members of senior management and other internal customers and requires effective project management in order to meet all planned and unplanned deadlines. Strong verbal and written communication skills, to effectively present to peers and management. Understand the technical aspects of accounting and financial reporting Other responsibilities as assigned Qualifications Bachelors' degree in Accounting, CPA preferred Understanding and application of U.S. GAAP fundamentals 5+ years of experience in Accounting with a focus on financial analysis and process improvement Supervisory experience managing a team of multiple accountants and clerks Advanced Excel skills required Ability to operate in a large ERP system; Oracle experience is preferred Why work for Cornerstone Building Brands?
