The Director of BI & Data Science will lead the IT Data Science and Business Intelligence (BI) teams to develop, maintain, and evolve Safelite's BI and Data Science infrastructure and centrally managed Assets. This business facing technical leader will ensure deliverables confer actionable, data-driven enhancements to the business. The leader will manage a high-performing team of data experts, creating opportunities to enhance their skill sets and guide the team in the growth of the infrastructure needed to support many embedded analysts throughout the organization with trusted, timely, data and self-serve BI assets. The expected result is a team of trusted data experts who serve the organization as a whole to support all of their BI and Data Science needs. What You Will Do

Partner with business stakeholders to identify opportunities for data-driven insights, automation, and system enhancements. Manage high-performing teams of data scientists and BI analysts to develop actionable data solutions that drive growth and efficiency. Oversee the data science development ensuring solutions support initiatives such as customer segmentation, demand forecasting, pricing optimization, and operational efficiency. Create BI assets that empower business users with intuitive, self-service analytics capabilities and a single source of truth. Champion collaboration with analytics engineering leaders, encouraging team contributions to the engineering-led BI semantic layer to enable scalable and governed reporting across the enterprise. Ensure data quality, security, and governance standards are upheld across all analytics initiatives. Bachelor's Degree in analytics, computer science, or related field Required Experience Qualifications

7-9 years experience in data science, analytics, data engineering, or business intelligence Required 1-3 years in an analytics or data leadership role. Required Skills And Abilities

Ability to provide strategic guidance and build cohesiveness among data scientists and BI analysts. (High proficiency) Demonstrated success working effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to design and deliver high-ROI, user-first solutions aligned with business needs. (High proficiency) Excellent communication skills for conveying complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders. (High proficiency) Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. (High proficiency) Strong understanding of foundational SQL concepts. (High proficiency) Familiarity with statistical programming languages such as Python or R, with the ability to guide teams in applying them to business problems. (Medium proficiency) Experience overseeing the use of cloud data platforms to support enterprise analytics and reporting needs. (Medium proficiency) Working knowledge of code management and version control practices (e.g., GitHub) to support collaborative development and reproducibility across teams. (Medium proficiency) Experience with large enterprise legacy tools (e.g., mainframe, Informatica, Oracle Business Intelligence, Cognos). (Medium proficiency) Experience with script-based analytics transformation tools (e.g., dbt, AWS Glue, Talend).
