Radiology Technologist - Orthopedics - Casual
Produces radiographs of various anatomical parts for diagnostic purposes as directed by the Orthopedic Physician. Essential Job Functions Verifies pertinent data about the patient and procedure. Provides information to the patient about the procedure. Analyzes the information obtained during assessment phase and determines optimal imaging parameters per diagnosis. Obtains optimum images during exam/procedure. Documents accurate information about patient and exam. Maintains equipment and workstation in optimum condition. Performs other duties of medical assistant and/or medical secretary on an as needed basis within physician office setting to ensure an efficient work flow for Orthopedic practice. May assist in surgical scheduling as needed Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Completion of a (JRCERT) accredited Radiologic Technology Program. Related training/experience (preferably within the past five years) Strong leadership ability, good organizational skills, independent and critical thinking skills, and sound judgment. Strong ability to communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience. Preferred Qualifications Medical Terminology One-year medical-surgical experience License, Certification & Clearances Current Registry with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Current Basic Life Support (BLS) approved curriculum of the American Heart Association (CPR and AED) program. Act 33 with renewal Act 34 with renewal Act 73 FBI Clearance Supervisory Responsibilities This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities, but does serve as a coach and mentor for other positions in the department. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work Incumbent will be scheduled based on operational need (rotate shifts, standby, on-call, etc.). Travel may be expected locally between Excela Health locations.
