Enterprise Senior Data Analyst Job
We are seeking an Enterprise Senior Data Analyst to lead the management and analysis of city-wide data that fuels critical decision-making and organizational efficiency initiatives. In this role, you'll work with diverse data sources, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and accessibility while developing queries, dashboards, and models that inform high-level strategy. You'll have the opportunity to dive deep into trend analysis, root cause identification, and process improvement recommendations. As a seasoned professional with comprehensive subject matter expertise, you'll work independently, tackle complex analytical challenges, and provide leadership and mentorship to junior staff. This role also plays a key part in the development and maintenance of AI software programs and machine learning models. Position salary range: E30 - $74,038/yr. - $101,096/yr. The established market rate for this position is $101,096/yr. This position is eligible for full city benefits, including: + Health insurance (95% of premium paid by city) + Dental, vision and life insurance + Paid vacation and personal leave + Six to twelve weeks of paid parental leave from day 1 of employment + Retirement contributions toward a pension plan and/or 401(k) + A robust Employee Assistance Plan (EAP) + Up to $4,000 tuition reimbursement annually + Discounted supplemental benefits like pet insurance and legal services Key Responsibilities: Assists in decision making regarding allocation of funds, resources, and personnel on all data analytic related projects. May be required to lead a team of Data Analysts along with upscaling and mentoring business analytics across city departments. Manages projects from start to finish. Works with other leaders and staff across the city to complete data analytic projects. Performs data cleaning and analysis techniques, including handling missing data, cleaning messy datasets, and extracting insights. Interprets and analyzes data using exploratory mathematic and statistical techniques based on existing programing methods. Coordinates research and analytic activities utilizing various data points (unstructured and structured) and employs programming to clean, massage, and organize the data. Experiments against data points, provides information based on experiment results, and provides previously undiscovered solutions to command data challenges. Works closely alongside Data Scientists and GIS Analysts under the GIS and Data Analytics Team. Analyses data problems and determines root causes. Defines company data assets (data models), SQL queries and jobs to populate data models. Works closely with all business units and engineering teams to develop strategy for long term data platform architecture. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or related fields plus six or more years of professional experience in the field of data analytics, including one year using GIS applications and three years of leadership/supervisory experience. Master's degree preferred. Proficient with one or more programming languages (Python, R, SQL etc.). Demonstrated experience applying data science methods to real-world data problems. Experience utilizing visualization tools to take advantage of the growing volume of available information. Extensive experience with Windows computer operating systems. Demonstrated knowledge and experience with integrated development software suites such as: Microsoft Power-BI, Visual Studio or other developmental IDEs. Demonstrated experience with web site design, development, and management. Familiarity with web servers, web applications servers and web services. Demonstrated ability to design and develop geographic database systems and familiarity with relational databases such as SQL Server. Effective oral and written communication skills and ability to work effectively with people from diverse organizations and backgrounds. Developing software and data models. Ability to travel from one work site to another. Working Conditions: Frequent exposure to computer terminals for extended periods. Light physical effort. Comfortable working conditions, handling of light weights, intermittent sitting, standing, and walking. Intermittent exposure to stress because of human behavior.
