$70,000.00/yr - $80,000.00/yr Direct message the job poster from Houston-Galveston Area Council The Houston-Galveston Area Council is one of the largest regional planning commissions in the country with a diverse service area of 13 counties and more than 7 million people. We are the pulse of our region addressing issues that cross city limits and county lines every single day. What will I be doing? - GIS Administration: Administer enterprise GIS systems, provide technical support to GIS users, troubleshoot common GIS software and data issues, and off guidance on data retrieval and usage. - Data Management: Organize, store, and maintain geospatial data (both raster and vector) enforcing consistency and proper metadata documentation. - Cloud Deployment & Infrastructure Management: Deploy and maintain GIS infrastructure such as ArcGIS Enterprise in a cloud environment. - ArcGIS Online and Server Management: Manage the Agencys ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Datahub systems including account and content management. - Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including those involved in transportation, environmental modeling, and socio-economic modeling, to ensure the data products they produce and consume are up to date. Key Qualifications - Experience with the ESRI GIS Platform: Proven experience using and managing products in the ESRI software suite including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Hub, ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Enterprise. - Programming Skills: Proficiency in programming and scripting languages such as Python and SQL for data and user management automation. - Collaborative and Communication Skills: Strong ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and to communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences. - Problem-Solving and Innovation: Ability to continuously learn, test and adopt new technologies. Do you have - A Bachelors degree in a relevant academic discipline such as Geography, GIS, Urban Planning, Environmental Science, Data Science, or a related field. - 3 years of experience working with local government, nonprofit programs, educational institutions, or in roles that involve data visualization, GIS, or related duties. Preferred Qualifications - A Masters degree in Geography, GIS, Urban Planning, Environmental Science, Data Science, or a related field. - Practical experience with ArcGIS Enterprise and cloud environments.
