Lead Creative Strategist

The Lead Creative Strategist position is a data-driven, ideas-first role that will act as the creative brain behind our top-performing paid media content; focused on concepting, testing, and optimizing high-impact and high-output creative across Meta, TikTok, YouTube, Amazon, and emerging platforms. This role will report to the VP of Growth and work closely with the Director of Growth, our in-house Video Editing team, and our Media Buyers to develop and iterate content that drives omni-channel growth across Shopify, Amazon, and Retail. They will play a key role in MaryRuth's performance creative team at the center of paid media growth, analyzing what works, generating novel and effective hooks and briefs, and scaling creative output that converts. This role is a full-time (40 hr/wk), salaried, exempt, remote position. Responsibilities

Lead creative strategy for all performance marketing assets across Paid Advertising Channels including Meta, TikTok, Google, Snapchat, & more. Write clear, compelling briefs for content creators rooted in performance data & audience insight. Develop testing hypotheses, creative concepts, hooks, angles, & storyboards that drive CTR, thumbstop rate, & ROAS. Partner with Director to align content strategy with ad channel goals & upcoming campaign plans around product launches, promotions, & more. Analyze winning ads & creative performance using tools like Motion, Northbeam, & more to fuel iterative improvements. Collaborate closely with the in-house Video Editing team, working in parallel to ensure briefs are executed on time and to standard. Work closely with the Creative Coordinator to manage UGC pipelines, track creator submissions, & brief external creators. Partner with Influencer, Retention, & Social Media teams to maintain alignment & repurpose content where relevant. Co-lead the Creative Sprint process with team to plan 2-wk Creative Sprints including number of creatives needed, product focus, & creative strategy notes for new creative iterations. Review and give performance-focused feedback on draft edits & first cuts in Frame or similar platforms. Maintain a log of creative learnings, tests, & results to continuously optimize content direction. Recap Sprint performance, deliverables and collaborate to analyze learnings and find areas of improvement. Stay ahead of platform trends, ad formats, & emerging creative strategies. Proactively test new hooks, formats, & creator styles to discover new scalable winners. Identify opportunity gaps in the current creative output & recommend solutions. 46 years in creative strategy, paid social, or growth-focused content roles at a fast-growing DTC brand or performance marketing agency required. Proven experience developing high-performing ads for Meta, TikTok, YouTube, etc. Strong understanding of creative testing frameworks, high frequency iterative ad production, & paid media strategy. Exceptional concepting, brief-writing, & copy ideation skills. Solid knowledge of platform-specific best practices & ad creative trends. Strong analytical skills and experience with creative analytics tools like Motion, Northbeam, or similar. Collaborative, self-directed, self-starting & comfortable working cross-functionally across Creative, Media, & Growth teams. Experience working with/briefing UGC creators strongly preferred. Basic familiarity with video editing tools or workflows (no editing experience required). Ability to manage multiple creative priorities in a fast-paced, test-and-learn environment. Interest in health & wellness or the supplement industry experience is a plus. Physical Requirements

Must be able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
