Worker's Compensation Analyst

Instead, they operate independently with support from the "Service Center," a world-class service team that provides the centralized clinical, legal, risk management, HR, training, accounting, IT, and other resources necessary to allow on-site leaders and caregivers to focus squarely on day-to-day care and business issues in their agencies. The position of Worker's Compensation Analyst is part of the Service Center team. It provides professional resource support to agencies and communities regarding workers' compensation incident trending and mitigation, as well as effective claim management. This is an exciting and unique opportunity for an energetic and organized professional with a passion for workplace safety and work-related claims/risk management to join the resource team in providing services and support to the service center, residential communities, and agencies with caregivers in the field. This role involves running trend reports, analyzing claim trends, developing risk mitigation strategies, managing claims, and ensuring compliance with regulations. Duties and Responsibilities Ensure completion and distribution of Workers' Compensation trending reports to all individual operations and leadership. Analyze claim trending and make recommendations for improvement to leadership and operation-level safety committees to reduce claim experience and cost. Along with other Workers' Compensation Resources, oversee workers' compensation programs in multiple jurisdictions. Timely communication of information to the field by proactively managing workers' compensation claims to closure. Along with other Workers' Compensation Resources, maintain, update, and continuously improve workers' compensation risk management policies, processes, and systems. Partner with service center, community, and agency leaders, third-party claims administrators, and adjusters to achieve best-case outcomes with management of workers' compensation claims to ensure timely case progression and resolution of workers' compensation claims. Promote, advise, and educate management and injured employees regarding return-to-work transitional duty through review and analysis of work restrictions to determine possible reasonable accommodations. Along with other Workers' Compensation Resources, develop, implement, and train on workers' compensation claims and risk management programs for current operations and new acquisitions. Along with other Workers' Compensation Resources, oversee OSHA electronic reporting requirements and support maintaining agency/facility logs in the field. Assist HR/Legal in responding to OSHA and state government agency requests for information and work with HR/Legal resources in supporting facilities with any on-site investigations. Be proactive and innovative in managing risk related to workplace injuries and prevention. Some travel may be required. Remote employment is a consideration, but hybrid on-site employment in Boise, ID, Salt Lake City, UT, or Hartford, CT, is preferable. Qualifications 5 plus years' experience in workers' compensation claims management. 5 plus years' experience in risk trend analysis and developing risk management strategies, preferably in workers' compensation and/or workplace safety. Bachelor's degree preferred. Preferred experience in Home Health, Hospice, Senior Living, and/or other healthcare environments. An ideal candidate will have experience employed with a claims administrator provider, with expertise in day-to-day claims management. An ideal candidate will have experience in analyzing incidents to determine root causes and identify means of preventing recurrence. Must be highly organized, disciplined, detail-focused, and able to work independently with multiple clients. Demonstrated ability to provide innovative problem-solving and implementation of positive proactive process improvement. Effective communications with all levels of employees from caregivers, staff, and management, as well as outside TPAs and governmental agencies. Able to quickly and articulately prepare clear and appropriate correspondence and reports. Skilled in creating and analyzing claim trend reports from a claim or other risk management software system. Skilled in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and able to quickly learn programs. Experience with both self-insured and state insurance plans. A great sense of humor and a strong desire to help other people perform and develop.
