Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) is responsible for supporting diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures on outpatients at the Cardiovascular Institute of the South (CIS) ASC. Under direct physician supervision, the technologist performs a wide range of routine to complex technical tasks, ensuring accurate imaging, procedural support, and adherence to safety protocols. This role is critical in achieving optimal diagnostic outcomes and delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced, procedure-intensive environment. Perform and document daily equipment checks to ensure optimal performance of cath lab machinery. Prepare procedure rooms and support equipment with necessary trays and sterile supplies prior to each case. Position patients and equipment properly, select appropriate radiation exposure parameters, and conduct imaging during procedures. Circulate during procedures, engage with the team, and anticipate the needs of the physician and support staff. Monitor and record hemodynamic data, blood pressure, and heart rate/rhythm; notify physicians of abnormalities. Scrub in to assist with interventional procedures such as angioplasties and peripheral vascular treatments while maintaining a sterile field. Demonstrate understanding of vascular anatomy, interventional techniques, and device operation, including laser, orbital atherectomy, thrombectomy, FFR/IVUS, and vascular closure devices. Track and maintain inventory, act as equipment resource, and serve as a "Train the Trainer" for specific devices. Assist with charting, data entry, and recording procedural details accurately and completely in the patient's chart. Pull arterial/venous sheaths and apply manual pressure to achieve hemostasis in accordance with documented competencies. Transport patients as needed while following infection control and safety standards. Participate in continuing education, complete competency checklists, and maintain ARRT credentials and state licensing. Uphold patient safety, radiation safety, and CIS ASC policies, while contributing positively in a high-pressure, team-oriented environment. Accept additional responsibilities and flexible scheduling as assigned by supervisors. Required Certifications/Licensure: ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners Radiologic Technologist License Basic Life Support (BLS) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Preferred Certification: RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab experience Proven ability to work in a high-stress, fast-paced team environment Proficient in radiation safety, vascular procedures, and technical operation of cath lab equipment Strong critical thinking, communication, and technical documentation skills Commitment to safety, sterile technique, and patient-centered care Basic understanding of computer systems and electronic documentation Equal Opportunity Employer
