This position is responsible for creating raving fans by coordinating, verifying, distributing, and managing all referral services to provide a smooth process for our patients. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Mastered basic job duties and completed competencies. Competent in EHR. Uses customer service principles and techniques to deal with patients calmly and pleasantly. Maintain ongoing tracking and appropriate documentation on referrals. Assemble information concerning patient's clinical background, referral needs, and provide appropriate clinical information to specialist. Act as a point of contact for patients with questions and/or concerns related to regards to referrals and authorizations required. Review details and expectations about the referral with patients. Contact review organizations and insurance companies to ensure prior approval requirements are met. Present necessary medical information such as history, diagnosis, and prognosis, as requested/required. Proficient working in at least one of the following: Referral Consults, Referral Ancillary, Authorizations, Diagnostics, and Non-TVH. Ensure referrals are addressed in a timely manner meeting or exceeding department benchmark. Other duties as assigned. Education/Experience Requirements:

High school diploma. Associate's degree from a community/junior college preferred or medical assistant certification completion. 0-12 months of TVH experience. Knowledge of billing practices and clinic policies and procedures. Knowledge of coding and clinic operating policies. Proficient skills in computer programs. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. Strong customer service focus. Ability to take and follow through with tasks and responsibilities. Ability to read and interpret medical charts. Ability to examine documents for information necessary for referrals. Ability to communicate effectively and work with others. Salary is commensurate with experience.
