Machine Operator
The Machine Operator position is primarily responsible for ensuring the machine is operational and functioning effectively, efficiently, safely and the product meets quality expectations. In addition, the Machine Operator position provides training, leadership and support to employees working on the production line. Essential Job Responsibilities To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential functions/duty satisfactorily. Operations Functions as the leader on the production line. Partners with leads, mechanics and other production employees to address production issues and implement solutions. Loads and unloads material rolls from machines, verifies and sets machine settings per the sheet settings in a safe manner. Manages proper and timely starts/stops/restarts for machine, removes scrap and rewind. Assists with machine set up. Performs general production activities to ensure efficient production of high-quality product. Operates thermoforming, automation, and auxiliary equipment (i.e., case tapers, grinders, stackers). Inspects finished or in-process products against company standards and specifications for irregularities or reject. Ensures compliance with regards to line clearance, raw materials, in-process inspection, manufacturing, and housekeeping. Conducts basic preventative maintenance, cavity changes and other technical duties. Troubleshoots machine for quality issues. Maintains documentation and performs administrative tasks relevant to plant operations. Collaborates with shift supervision to understand and develop training needs, structure, and individual progress for assigned shift. Ensures work area is maintained in order and is free of unused items, carts, machinery not in use to mitigate safety hazards and maintain good housekeeping practices. Performs other job-related duties as required and/or assigned. Report conditions or practices that are either unsafe or that may adversely impact the environment. Minimum Requirements (include education, experience, special skills, licenses and/or certifications required.) Strong Interpersonal skills, facilitation, and communication skill, both verbal and written. Critical thinking skills, problem resolution, strong decision-making ability to self-perform, and make decisions regarding the sequence of set-ups, operations, and processes, including minor modification or pre-programmed computer routines within limits of recognized standard methods and procedures. Strong proficiency in MS Suite (Word, Excel, Access), experience in data acquisition preferred. Read micrometers and calipers, digital force gauge, protractors, pressure gauges, temperature thermocouples. High school diploma or general equivalency degree (GED) or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of 6 months experience in a manufacturing environment or similar relevant experience. Experience Level Entry Level Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
