The Donor Cultivation position supports fundraising and alumni engagement efforts by coordinating donor outreach, assisting with stewardship initiatives, and fostering meaningful connections. This role focuses on relationship-building, event coordination, and delivering impactful experiences that strengthen donor and alumni engagement with the organization. Duties & Responsibilities Develop and manage annual strategic, marketing, and communication to current and prospective donors, including personalized thank-you notes, follow-ups, and updates. Maintain accurate records in the donor database. Support stewardship strategies, including donor recognition and impact reports. Develop opportunities to engage first-time or lapsed donors. Collaborate with the alumni relations team to support alumni communications and engagement strategies. Maintain alumni contact lists and event participation data. Coordinate content creation for alumni newsletters, social media, or mailings. Assist in planning and executing small- to mid-size events, such as alumni receptions, donor appreciation gatherings, and fundraising campaigns. Coordinate event logistics (venue, catering, invitations, RSVPs, materials, day-of support). Work with vendors and internal departments to ensure successful execution of events. Assist with post-event follow-up and data entry. Maintain updated records in database systems. Create reports and event summaries for internal stakeholders. Help manage timelines and calendars for cultivation and stewardship efforts. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, public relations, nonprofit management, or related field. Preferred Qualifications: Experience (internship, volunteer, or part-time) in fundraising, or alumni relations. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Maintain knowledge of, and compliance with, specific NCAA, Big Ten Conference, and institution rules that relate to this position is required. Appointment Information This is a 100% full-time Academic Professional position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after 8/18/2025.
