Accounts Receivable Analyst / Collections Specialist
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Receivable (AR) Analyst / Collections Specialist to join our finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the accounts receivable process, ensuring timely collections, resolving billing issues, and maintaining positive relationships with clients. Your goal is to improve cash flow and reduce outstanding receivables through effective communication and analysis. Key Responsibilities: Monitor and manage the accounts receivable portfolio to ensure timely payment of outstanding invoices. Perform daily collections activities, including contacting customers via email and phone regarding past-due accounts. Investigate and resolve customer payment discrepancies, short pays, and disputes in coordination with internal departments (sales, billing, customer service). Generate and distribute AR aging reports and track KPIs related to collections performance. Collaborate with the billing team to ensure accurate and timely invoicing. Apply incoming payments accurately and reconcile customer accounts as needed. Recommend credit holds or escalations for severely delinquent accounts. Support monthly and quarterly close processes with AR-related reporting and reconciliations. Maintain up-to-date customer records and ensure data accuracy in the accounting system. Assist with process improvements to optimize collections and AR workflow. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 2+ years of experience in accounts receivable, collections, or credit analysis. Strong understanding of AR principles, billing processes, and collection techniques. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, QuickBooks, or similar ERP systems). Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to handle difficult conversations professionally. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. High attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Experience working in a fast-paced or high-volume environment is a plus.
