Food Service Worker

Schedule: 7am-3:30pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and every other weekend The Food Service Worker performs a variety of functions related to the safe assembly, distribution and service of food for Hospital patients, visitors and staff. Does this position require Patient Care? No Essential Functions: Attends department meetings, monthly in-services, training classes, etc., as assigned. Anticipates and meets customer needs; takes appropriate steps to rectify issues. Maintains cleanliness of work areas. Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of department equipment. Demonstrates a positive and friendly attitude. Adheres to all HACCP standards. Alerts supervisor to any concerns, discrepancies, product shortages, etc. Actively supports and upholds department goals to maintain or improve operations and customer satisfaction. Works in various tray line, cafeteria, and kitchen positions. Sets up and stocks food station for meal service. Assembles patient trays, serves food and beverage to retail customers, and/or delivers or retrieves trays from patient rooms. Cleans station, equipment, and floors at the end of each meal. Position may include operating dish machine, trash compactor, mopping floors. Prepares additional food items for patient tray line and cafeteria operations. Regularly works on sanitation projects assigned by manager. Assists with training of new employees as well as cross-training of fellow employees. Qualifications: Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? Yes Licenses and Credentials: Experience Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Staff adheres to all I C.A.R.E. Standards. Must be able to read menu items in English (exception is the pot-washer position). Must be able to communicate in English (exception is the pot-washer position). Must be able to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Work requires ability to push trucks and carts with food and supplies.
