physician to join our established Internal Medicine faculty team. You can expect a leadership team committed to providing resources to keep patients as the center focus of care. exemplify commitment to leadership in resident education and program administration to meet the goal of continuous program improvement. Working in tandem with and reporting to the Program Director (PD), faculty will support the PD in organizing, implementing, and supervising the training program. Duties include but are not limited to: resident selection, orientation, evaluation, remediation; curriculum development; program evaluation, accreditation, and improvement; supervision and mentoring of Internal Medicine Residents. Faculty members are essential in graduate medical education—they teach residents how to care for patients, serve as role models, and foster the growth of future physicians through compassion, professionalism, and dedication to lifelong learning. They take pride in mentoring residents and providing high-quality care through teaching. Faculty recognize and respond to the needs of patients, residents, community, and institution. They create a professional and supportive learning environment, attending to residents' well-being and their own. Overall responsibilities: Maintain American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) certification. Collaborate with the PD and core faculty to meet the program’s mission and aims. Ensure adherence to Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) requirements. Develop and implement policies relevant to the Internal Medicine Residency Program as per ACGME standards. Demonstrate a strong commitment to resident education. Maintain an educational environment conducive to learning. Support the PD and faculty in implementing policies on resident duty hours and work environment. Develop and use evaluation milestones. Lead or participate in projects to improve training quality, in collaboration with the program director. Participate in UNR SOM and Renown Committees as requested. IM Residency Specific Duties: Mentor residents and medical students in educational goals, career planning, patient care, and scholarship. Create and monitor Individualized Educational Plans for residents. Foster collegiality among residents and faculty. Conduct didactic sessions and contribute to educational quality. Evaluate residents, students, and faculty, and participate in decisions about their training continuation. Participate in program evaluation and clinical competency committees. Review applications, conduct interviews, and help formulate the program’s rank list. Assist in orientation for new interns. Provide structured feedback and support resident wellness activities. Continuity Clinic Duties: Supervise residents in the continuity clinic. Provide ongoing care to a panel of Internal Medicine patients. Maintain the clinical learning environment and oversee resident panels. Mentor residents in developing primary care careers. Enhance the clinic educational experience with didactics and case conferences. Program Mentorship & Scholarship: Mentor residents and support scholarly projects. Participate in scholarly activities at various levels. Write letters of recommendation and support conference attendance. Engage in professional development and faculty meetings. Other: Perform additional administrative, clinical, and supervisory functions as assigned. Required Qualifications: Eligible for Nevada State provider license. Board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine. Preferred Qualifications: Experience as teaching faculty in GME programs. Position Scope: The incumbent will diagnose, treat, and counsel patients, make critical medical decisions, and participate in governance and policy development. They will stay current with medical advances through ongoing education and participation in professional activities. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Effective in an integrated delivery system. Knowledge of regulatory rules and standards (e.g., The Joint Commission, NCQA). Strong leadership and independent work capabilities. This position involves patient care responsibilities.
