Yokogawa is seeking a highly motivated Digital Water Technology Specialist. This is a unique opportunity for an individual with a passion for innovation and a deep understanding of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), large datasets, and automation to make a significant impact. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and deploying tools that redefine the water landscape. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and a collaborative spirit to guide our clients on their digital transformation journey.

Duties/Results

Provide expert input, guidance, and direction on digital water technologies to support clients embracing lite agile frameworks for data acquisition and translation to meaningful end-user value. Lead hands-on Proof of Concept (PoC) and pilot development by integrating multiple software and hardware products and creating any necessary custom code to support these deployments. Leverage deep expertise in areas like AI/ML to provide insights and drive system optimization solutions. Collaborate with academia, research institutes, selected partners, external clients, and internal stakeholders to develop strategies that improve Yokogawa’s market position. Manage day-to-day technical engagements with a variety of technologies and stakeholders. Work with other Yokogawa peer technologists, providing guidance and insights into solutions implementation. Monitor changes in regulatory policy and industry trends, enabling the business to adapt strategically and align innovation with the needs of our chosen markets. Support and contribute to business plan development and sales activities. Monitor and provide guidance on competitor behaviors and evolving trends. Be fiscally aware and responsible, adhering to all company guidelines, and provide periodic reports on activities.

Education & Core Qualifications

Educational requirements may be flexible based on demonstrated and relevant work experience. Can demonstrate 10+ years of minimum experience in developing and delivering networking solutions, preferably to the process industry and/or US utilities. A strategic mindset with the ability to contribute to business planning. Active membership in current industry-specific associations is a plus.

Technical Skills & Experience

Deep expertise in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML), including an understanding of various statistical techniques.Strong programming experience, with Python and Node-RED/Node.JS as a minimum.Experience with evolving technologies such as:

Wireless (5G, WiFi6, LoRaWAN, WAN/backhaul) Industrial IoT Sensors Processing Environments (Cloud, Edge devices, OPA) and containers/container management (Docker/Kubernetes) Advanced analysis and visualization tools (AI/ML, OSIsoft AF, Digital Twins) Communication protocols (MQTT/Sparkplug B, OPC UA, SNMP…) Network and device management systems (PRTG, Riverbed, AWS) Cyber security (NERC-CIP, IEC 62443, physical, spectrum, network, edge, end device…) Programming (Python, Node-RED/Node.JS, JAVA) Proven ability to develop and deploy PoC/Pilot projects and SCADA solutions. Experience with advanced analysis and visualization tools (e.g., OSIsoft AF, Digital Twins). Supporting piloting, testing and operational deployments of these technologies.

Attributes

Strong communication capabilities (primary English), able to discuss technical aspects with clients and share this with peers and encapsulate concepts for presentations to management. Analytical, able to independently analyze end user environments, needs and gaps, and present solutions back to clients. Soft skills to support indirect influence Sales & Marketing a bonus

TRAVEL:

Ability to travel up to 50% of the time, including domestic and international business trips, must have a valid passport.
