Provides leadership to the Dollar Tree Stores Energy Team who oversees utilities and building automation and monitoring systems. Position will develop strategies to increase sustainable energy management savings through analyzing, monitoring and scheduling. The position works with both internal and external sources to facilitate solutions to ongoing issues and to standardize work practices. Partners with our clients by working with internal decision-makers to procure energy while managing market risk. The Manager of Energy is responsible for leading client relationships, creating and executing energy and sustainability strategy and ensuring efficient delivery of service to accounts.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities -

Manages budget/spend by gathering and analyzing data in the establishment and/or maintenance of corporate business processes, procedures and policies, (Create, maintain and support user requests)

Facilitate natural gas, electricity, and/or renewable energy procurement in deregulated markets for both individual and aggregated sites.

Responsible for energy and utility management, procurement and maintenance contracts for all locations and assisting Facilities Management with all energy management, maintenance, monitoring, efficiency, and sustainability projects in the field.

Manage relationship with energy consultants to ensure all information is accurate and up to date

Manage Utility Rebate program to ensure the utility rebates are maximized.

Strong project management skills for projects such as LED retro-fits, EMS retrofits, proactive HVAC replacements, etc.

Clarify and incorporate company sustainability goals, policies and priorities into energy strategy

Oversee task execution and management including oversight of energy management systems and monitoring systems.

Direct participation in nationwide demand response programs and negotiate entry into new programs.

Manage portfolio-wide energy efficiency and sustainability projects, including identifying candidates, managing budget, pursuing incentives, coordinating with store operations and tracking all relevant project information.

Work with field and energy team in establishing company approved EMS operating parameters to optimize the system usage and reduce consumption. Monitors and manages energy standards

Analyze and report energy consumption overages and carbon footprint reduction efforts.

Develops strategic initiatives to further refine and improve energy management scheduling and savings

Answers trouble calls from stores and takes necessary action according to Facility Management procedures and policies.

Capture energy and sustainability data and make it actionable through meaningful, often customized, reporting

Find and implement more efficient and sustainable solutions in the energy/utilities field

Perform regular audits and evaluations of energy use, water use, waste program and all associated spending trends.

Education of the facility team in energy/utilities and sustainability practices

Follow up on orders and invoices as required.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's Degree is ideal, preferably in mechanical engineering, engineering technology, sustainability, or related field with emphasis on facilities management

Knowledge of Lighting and Temperature Control Systems, Building Automation Systems, HVAC equipment, electrical distribution systems and energy management program development

Demonstrated technical background in facilities management, including +2 years in energy management and/or sustainability related fields

Must possess strong analytical skills to understand energy market fundamentals and translate data into strategies

Proficiency in Microsoft applications

Excellent communication skills, knowledge of English usage, spelling, grammar, and punctuation

Strong negotiation experience

Strong organization skills

A minimum of 3 years' experience in managing teams of people

Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Suite of products

Position requires on-call availability, may require nighttime, holiday and weekend hours

Knowledge of real estate, property management, accounting and building systems helpful
