Associate Director of Institutional Giving

New York, NY Hybrid - 4 days a week onsite

Position Overview Be a part of a nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering a general public informed by science, inspired by its wonder, convinced of its value, and prepared to engage with its implications for the future. As the Associate Director of Institutional Giving, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining a portfolio of private foundations, corporate foundations, and government agencies to support the organization's growth.

Responsibilities Design, implement, and manage a fundraising portfolio to enhance relationships with foundations, corporate foundations, and government agencies Identify funding prospects and develop tailored fundraising strategies Prepare proposals, applications, reports, budgets, and correspondence to secure financial support Research philanthropic trends and align donor interests with organizational goals Represent the organization, with the Director of Development, as a primary institutional contact Cultivate and solicit major funding commitments from institutional donors Collaborate with internal teams to craft competitive grant applications and ensure compliance Maintain donor stewardship processes and fulfill all grant requirements Work with the CFO to prepare narrative and financial reports Manage donor records and files, ensuring accuracy in both physical and digital formats Oversee grant budgets, payments, acknowledgments, and correspondence Monitor a calendar of fundraising activities, including deadlines, meetings, and reports Qualifications

Bachelor's degree Minimum 5 years institutional giving experience Demonstrated grant writing success Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong analytical skill, particularly with project budgets Excellent computer skills, strong information management skills, particularly with Customer Relationship Management software like Salesforce, Raiser's Edge, etc. Capacity to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines consistently Ability to be self-directed and work independently in a fast-paced work environment Must be able to handle sensitive, confidential information with discretion and professionalism Collaborative, flexible, team-oriented and positive work ethic Compensation

Salary: $90,000 - $120,000 Comprehensive benefits package
