Job Description
Cover acute care general surgery, trauma, and surgical intensive care unit (SICU).
Work at ACS Level 1 and Missouri-designated Level 1 trauma center, serving a diverse urban and rural population.
Participate in disaster management efforts.
Provide care for elective general surgery patients.
Qualifications
Board-certified or eligible in General Surgery.
Board certification or eligibility in Surgical Critical Care preferred but not required.
Coverage available at University Health Lakewood campus.
Current Surgical Critical Care Fellows are encouraged to apply.
Academic and Professional Development The Department of Surgery is expanding academically. The candidate should be interested in clinical, teaching, and research growth and will have an academic appointment at UMKC at the assistant/associate professor level, depending on experience.
Teaching and Community Our surgeons mentor residents, fellows, and medical students. Located in Kansas City, MO, a vibrant and affordable city with rich arts, sports, and educational opportunities. The new Chair of Surgery, Dr. James N. Lau, will lead this search.
