Pay Information $2,248 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse - Surgical Specialty Profession: RN Surgical Specialty Specialty: Surgical Transplant Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 36.00 Experience: - Minimum of 1 year of experience in a relevant setting. - Stepdown/PCU experience is required. - Travel experience is preferred. - Transplant experience is preferred. License: - Current RN License issued by the state board of nursing or a current multistate compact RN License. Certifications: - Current Basic Life Support certification issued by the American Heart Association. Must-Have: - Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program. Description: Under general supervision, provides nursing care in a hospital to a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex. Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients. Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments. Notes all changes in physician orders on assigned patients. Assists physician in the examination of patients and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatments. Obtains and monitors physiological data of patients. Observes the physiological manifestations of patients and intervenes when necessary. Administers medication as prescribed. Initiates, regulates, and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products. Delivers patient care competently. Interacts with family and patients in sharing care plans while in the hospital and at the time of discharge. Informs patients and families of hospital procedures. Makes referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel. Delegates tasks to support staff. Performs other duties as assigned. This position involves caring for post-surgical patients. Patients require close monitoring for infection and timely medication delivery. This is not a post-anesthesia care unit position. Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures is essential. Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services. Good verbal and written communication skills are required. Ability to respond effectively to the cultural and language needs of patients and visitors is necessary.
